Located in London's Kensal Rise near our Lexi Cinema project, Elmwood Lawn Tennis Club is a community- and family-focused tennis club with a long history.
The original clubhouse, built circa 1940s, now requires major upgrades to its structure, accommodation, fabric, and external facilities.
The design of the new clubhouse derives from the existing architectural and structural forms on the site, such as the pitched roofs, the vaulted roofs of the sub-station, and the exposed steel trusses. Collectively, these elements are used to compose a new clubhouse design that seamlessly blends with the existing context, as if it had been there for many years before.

Key elements include a multi-functional and adaptable clubroom with an external covered terrace, a new hitting wall, and a new Padel court. The new clubhouse will also be fully accessible and sustainable. The performance of the external fabric has been improved for airtightness and thermal insulation, and the roof features integrated solar tiles.
