Dynevor Home

Richmond, London

An addition of a basement level and rear extension and ground floor re-organisation for a growing family in St Matthias Conservation Area.

The house is part of a series of late 19th Century detached Victorian dwellings on Dynevor Road. Each dwelling was originally three stories with passageways between giving access to rear gardens.

The project creates a new Basement level which accommodates a Home Cinema, Utility and open-plan Living, Dining and Kitchen.

The new space, conceived as a lantern gathers sunlight for the deep living spaces within, and generously opens the interior to the garden below. It is also a social space connecting the ground and basement level via a new landscaped area and external stair.
