Nestled within a serene countryside setting, this exceptional project redefines the concept of the modern country house, meeting the rigorous design criteria of Paragraph 80. This innovative home balances contemporary architectural expression with a profound respect for its natural surroundings and a commitment to environmental sustainability.

The design embraces the essence of Paragraph 80, demonstrating how rural development can harmonise with the local landscape. The home's form and materials are carefully chosen to blend with its environment while adhering to the highest sustainability standards. Renewable energy solutions, including discreetly integrated solar panels and an air-source heat pump, ensure the home operates efficiently with minimal environmental impact.

Inside, the property features expansive, light-filled living spaces that foster a profound connection with the outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling glazing is framed by elegant vertical fins, thoughtfully designed to capture glimpses of the surrounding countryside while providing essential solar shading during the summer months. These fins not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also contribute to the home’s passive design strategy, optimising natural light and ventilation while reducing energy consumption. High-performance insulation and airtight construction further enhance the home's thermal efficiency, ensuring a comfortable and sustainable living environment throughout the year. Aptly named Finn House, this project celebrates both the distinctive architectural feature and the client’s personal story.

The interior is a modern interpretation of the traditional country home, combining sleek finishes with natural materials such as timber and stone. Bespoke features cater to the homeowner's lifestyle, including a dedicated art studio, a climate-controlled wine room, and spaces for entertaining and relaxation.

Landscaping plays a pivotal role in integrating the house with its surroundings. A carefully designed permaculture-inspired garden not only enhances biodiversity but also includes rainwater harvesting systems and native planting schemes, underscoring the project’s ecological focus.

This Paragraph 80 home is a testament to thoughtful and innovative rural architecture, marrying modern living with environmental stewardship and setting a benchmark for sustainable countryside developments.
