Nestled in a leafy London suburb, a Victorian terrace house has undergone a remarkable transformation, blending industrial Brooklyn aesthetics with the refined minimalism of Apple store design.

The project, spearheaded by lawyer George Cotter and his partner Kristie Malivindi, a design director recently relocated from New York, sought to breathe new life into George's decade-old home. What began as a kitchen renovation quickly evolved into a comprehensive overhaul, guided by the expert hand of Rise Design Studio.

The house, stripped back to its 1870s bones, now showcases a material palette that pays homage to Brooklyn's industrial charm. Exposed brick walls and polished concrete floors create a backdrop for carefully curated modern elements. The ground floor's piece de resistance is a glass envelope extension, flooding the space with natural light and seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor living.

Distinctive features include a striking black-and-white spotted bathroom, inspired by Milan Design Week, and a cozy, windowless TV room painted in deep, rich hues. The kitchen, now the heart of the home, boasts sleek lines and considered details reminiscent of Apple's iconic store designs.

Throughout the nine-month renovation process, the couple's focus on light, space, and functionality has resulted in a home that feels both expansive and intimately tailored to their lifestyle. From the airy, open-plan living areas to the converted attic office, every square foot has been optimized for modern living.

The project stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design, seamlessly marrying period architecture with contemporary aesthetics. It's a home that not only reflects its owners' transatlantic journey but also redefines urban living for the 21st century.
